The Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Center has commenced operations, with green value promoted by Midea's photovoltaic solutions.

Recently, the Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Center was officially launched, located in the Hongqiao Business District of Shanghai, near the National Exhibition and Convention Center.

A 'science park above a forest' is the design concept of the entire park, aiming to provide a technology, nature, and culture integrated, forward-looking, low-carbon, and green science and technology park for technology innovation enterprises.

The main buildings of the park are divided into three levels, with the continuity of the facade broken by the segmentation and undulation of the forms, creating a rich and varied effect. The rich roof landscape greenery can be accessed via public stairs from the ground, forming new urban public spaces and landscape layers. Meanwhile, through the interplay and variation of the building shapes, a good visual permeability and rich façade are maintained at human scale. The overhang at the bottom and the stepped roof design break the rigidity caused by the extensive width of the building, making the park space blend inside and out. Through three levels, the pleasantness of the lower urban public space is maintained, while also creating distinctive office and research spaces that meet the image requirements of the enterprise.

Rows of photovoltaic panels are neatly arranged, seamlessly integrating with the park buildings. The semi-transparent photovoltaic corridor design provides a continuous supply of green energy to the park, further showcasing the intersection of green technology and intelligent aesthetics!

The Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Center's photovoltaic project is undertaken by Hicionics Midea Photovoltaic, a sector under Midea Energy. Midea is actively practicing the concept of green industry through concrete actions, starting from its own projects to inject a continuous flow of new impetus into the industry's green development. The project makes comprehensive use of 16,000 square meters of park space, with a well-arranged layout of 1,874 monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules and 1,876 translucent monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, coupled with 13 string inverters, achieving an installed capacity of 1.73MW. The entire project adopts a 'self-generated, self-used, surplus power to the grid' model, connected to the grid at 380V low voltage, significantly realizing the efficient utilization of energy.

Innovation is fully embodied in this project. Its innovative application of BAPV, sightseeing skywalk, and photovoltaic building integration solutions has completely broken the traditional model of separation between photovoltaics and buildings. Cutting-edge energy-saving technologies have redefined the building's energy ecosystem, achieving the optimal balance in three dimensions under an efficient energy management system: energy conservation, space utilization, and scenic views. Not only does it fully meet the building's energy needs, but it also endows the building with unique aesthetic value, successfully creating a model of intelligent buildings that integrate green technology, humanistic experience, and aesthetic design.

In the long term, the photovoltaic project is expected to generate a cumulative electricity output of 42 million kWh over 25 years, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 28,980 tons, and save 13,690 tons of standard coal, significantly lowering carbon emissions and contributing significantly to addressing global climate change.

Midea's photovoltaic system contributes green value to the Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Center's photovoltaic project in the areas of low-carbon environmental protection and green ecology, and will provide commercial and industrial energy solutions to more customers in the future.
