On July 23, Andy Cheng, the Distribution CEO of One Stop Warehouse Pty Ltd (OSW), a leading Australian household energy storage distributor, visited the Midea Global Innovation Park in Shanghai. Joel Lu, the head of HICONICS (300048) under Midea Group’s New Energy Business Unit, and the overseas marketing team received the visitors.
During this meeting, both parties further clarified the cooperation details. OSW will act as the distributor for Midea’s household energy storage products in the Australian market. Gerry Liu, General Manager of Overseas Marketing at HICONICS, and Usama Aslam, General Manager of the Australian Region at OSW, signed the annual strategic cooperation agreement on-site at the Midea Global Innovation Park. Andy Cheng and Joel Lu were present to witness the signing.

OSW was founded in Queensland, Australia, in 2013, primarily focusing on the distribution and installation services of photovoltaic . It has been the leading player in the Australian household photovoltaic storage distribution market for seven consecutive years. Starting from 2024, OSW is advancing its strategic transformation, laying out a digital SaaS tool chain, an all-in-one supply chain service platform, and a carbon tax trading platform. At the core of this transformation is the AI-powered GreenSketch design software platform, which forms a comprehensive digital tool matrix covering customer lead generation, solution design, quotation signing, subsidy application, procurement inquiry, online ordering, and virtual power plant (VPP) operation, to expand into the global market.
During the meeting, OSW Distribution CEO Andy stated that OSW chose to represent Midea's household energy storage business in the Australian region based on three factors. Firstly, starting from May 2026, Australia will implement a new STC subsidy policy for energy storage. Midea's new 7 kWh battery pack for household storage aligns with the optimal subsidy tier under the new policy, clearly highlighting the product's competitive positioning. Secondly, Midea's household energy storage products have undergone two generations of iteration, resulting in a mature and complete technical system. Compliance and safety have been rigorously certified by TÜV, Australian CCS, CSIP-AUS, CNAS, and obtained CEC listing, earning recognition from the OSW product management team. Thirdly, the Midea brand has a strong influence in the Australian market. Midea's household energy storage, acting as a home energy management center, can be deeply integrated with Midea's heat pumps and smart home appliances, offering significant business synergy potential for both end consumers and installers, as well as distributors.
Gerry, General Manager of Overseas Marketing at HICONICS, stated that this signing marks a significant milestone for Midea's household energy storage in entering the Australian market. Midea will leverage OSW's nationwide installer network in Australia to rapidly penetrate the end-user market. According to the agreement, both parties will conduct comprehensive cooperation and synergy in four key areas: product market promotion, channel expansion, installer professional training, and local after-sales services. During the meeting, both parties also conducted preliminary discussions on future cooperation in some European markets.
