With the continuous advancement of the Dual Carbon Strategy, revitalizing idle land and developing clean energy have become core priorities for the new energy transition. Recently, the 21.6 MW centralized ground-mounted photovoltaic project in Meiyu Village, Fushan Town, Chengmai County, undertaken by Midea New Energy, is reconstructed on an abandoned quarry. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and constructed in line with standardized procedures, the project delivers multiple benefits including ecological restoration, clean power generation and low-carbon development, setting a benchmark for ground-mounted photovoltaic construction across Hainan Province.

The project is located in Meiyu Village, Fushan Town, Chengmai County, Hainan Province, on the site of a disused quarry that had lain barren with severely degraded ecosystems. It features a DC-side installed capacity of 21.35084 MW and an AC-side installed capacity of 17.92 MW, with grid connection at the 10 kV voltage level, classifying it as a typical centralized ground-mounted photovoltaic power station with full on-grid power output. In terms of equipment configuration, a fixed mounting system with an optimal tilt angle of 13° is adopted, tailored to Hainan’s local solar irradiance and climatic conditions to maximize solar energy utilization and power generation stability. It boasts technical merits such as high power generation efficiency, low operational loss and strong environmental adaptability.
This centralized ground-mounted photovoltaic project boasts remarkable advantages over traditional distributed photovoltaic systems. In terms of land utilization, it revitalizes stock land from abandoned industrial and mining sites without occupying cultivated land, achieving a win-win outcome of efficient land use and ecological restoration through the model of "redeveloping wasteland". For power generation performance, its large-scale centralized layout and high-end supporting equipment deliver stable power output and excellent grid compatibility, enabling large-scale transmission of clean electricity and effectively reinforcing local power supply capacity. When it comes to operation and maintenance management, the compact and orderly equipment layout facilitates intelligent and standardized O&M, significantly cutting long-term operational costs and guaranteeing stable power station operation over its 25-year service life.

As a key regional green and low-carbon initiative, the power station will provide robust support for local Dual Carbon goals. Calculations show that over its 25-year operational cycle, the project will generate a total of 618.2928 million kWh of clean electricity, cut carbon dioxide emissions by 509,477.72 tons and save 186,107.76 tons of standard coal, drastically curbing fossil fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Reconstructed from an abandoned quarry, the project rehabilitates damaged landforms and improves regional ecology through land consolidation and ecological revegetation. It successfully delivers dual value via integrated mine restoration and photovoltaic power generation, creating an exemplary model for the coordinated development of ecological conservation and clean energy.
The delivery of this benchmark ground-mounted photovoltaic project in Fushan Town further validates the company’s comprehensive capacity to provide standardized full-cycle services covering site selection and design, equipment matching, engineering construction and long-term operation and maintenance, as well as its proven expertise in photovoltaic retrofits for complex sites and the construction of high-efficiency green power generation systems.
Upholding ecological priorities and fulfilling corporate responsibilities, Midea New Energy shoulders the dual social obligations of ecological governance and green development through integrated mine restoration and photovoltaic development. Going forward, the company will continue to align its efforts with local demands and ecological imperatives, exploring innovative models for land revitalization leveraging its technological prowess and full-industry-chain services.
