In the current context of the accelerated advancement of the 'Dual Carbon' goals, commercial and industrial PV projects are becoming a critical lever for companies' green transformation. Recently, the Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Project undertaken by Hiconics New Energy Companyfor Guangdong Midea Cooling Equipment Co., Ltd. was successfully connected to the grid in Baoji Town, Shunde District, Guangdong. By integrating innovative technology and multiple application scenarios, it has provided a replicable benchmark for the green upgrade of the manufacturing industry.
Located at No. 20 Lin Gang Road, Baoji Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, the total installed capacity of the project reaches 2.17MW. This is equivalent to constructing a photovoltaic array within an area of 25,000 square meters (approximately the size of 3.5 standard football fields), comprising a photovoltaic curtain wall, BIPV carport, corrugated steel roof flat laying, and concrete roof canopy in various forms. The project adopts the 'self-generated, self-used, excess power to the grid' model, started construction on January 10, and was completed and connected to the grid in just 111 days, demonstrating efficient engineering execution.
The project is built in two phases, both using Longi 620W monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, totaling 5839 units. Equipped with 110kW and 150kW string inverters, an efficient power generation system is established. Notably, the project breaks away from traditional photovoltaic installation methods, integrating PV curtain walls and BIPV carports into the factory construction, achieving an integrated design of building and energy while providing practical functions such as shading and parking for the factory premises, representing a perfect combination of 'green building' and 'clean energy'.
From an economic perspective, the project is expected to generate a cumulative power output of 91.236 million kWh over 25 years, equivalent to saving more than 36,227 tons of standard coal energy costs for the company. Environmental benefits are even more significant, with an estimated reduction of 90,568 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of planting 5 million trees. In terms of social benefits, this project helps Midea build a 'sustainable green smart factory' and a 'zero-carbon park,' exploring a development path of 'low-carbon production + efficient operation' for the manufacturing industry.
As a benchmark project in the Shunde area, its innovation not only lies in its scale and technology but also in pioneering a multi-application model of “PV + Industrial Scenario.”As the project continues to operate, Hiconics New Energy Companywill provide comprehensive reference from design, construction to operation for more industrial and commercial enterprises, promoting PV technology to become the core driving force for the green transformation of industries.
