Low-carbon Energy Illuminates the Green Development Path of the Factory
The 23.3MW distributed photovoltaic project of Midea Photovoltaic in Wuhu Meizhi Factory is fully grid - connected for power generation.
According to the latest data released by the National Energy Administration, the newly installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics in 2023 reached a record high of approximately 96GW, far exceeding industry expectations. Riding on the wave of the booming photovoltaic industry, the diversified Midea Group is accelerating its transformation. It actively responds to the national dual-carbon policy and green energy development strategy, crosses into the photovoltaic field, and actively deploys distributed industrial and commercial photovoltaics to provide comprehensive energy solutions for urban development.
01 Wuhu Meizhi Factory
When it comes to advancing the green strategic layout, implementation is the key.
As the largest household air - conditioner production base of Midea Group in East and Central China and a major electricity - consuming enterprise in the manufacturing industry, it faces huge pressure of "energy conservation and consumption reduction". In 2023, Midea Photovoltaic joined hands with Wuhu Meizhi Air - Conditioner to implement a distributed photovoltaic power generation project. This project not only contributes to the dual - carbon strategy but also serves as a powerful measure for Midea Group to promote its green strategic layout and an effective exploration of fulfilling corporate social responsibilities
Installed Capacity: A total of 23.3MW
\Average Annual Power Generation: Up to 24.4437 million kWh
Standard Coal Savings: Can save 8,814.13 tons
Wuhu Meizhi and Midea Photovoltaic jointly built a distributed power generation project. By utilizing the 172,000-square-meter factory building roofs in the park and the 79,000-square-meter factory building roofs in the General One Park, a distributed photovoltaic power generation system was constructed, with installed capacities of 14.35MW and 8.96MW respectively, totaling approximately 23.3MW. It is estimated that the average annual power generation of this project can reach 24.4437 million kWh, saving about 8,814.13 tons of standard coal annually. Correspondingly, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16,085.8 tons each year, which will effectively benefit the enterprise in cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and achieving green manufacturing. The completion of this project represents a new layout of Wuhu Meizhi in green energy utilization and will play a good benchmarking and demonstration role in the surrounding areas, helping it become a low-carbon leading enterprise.
When overlooking many large-scale parks, rows of neatly arranged photovoltaic facilities can be seen attached to the rooftops of factory buildings. Photovoltaics have undoubtedly become the top choice for creating "green factories". Benefiting from Midea Group's experience in the home appliance field and its in-depth understanding of end - customer needs, Midea Photovoltaic promotes the safer, more reliable, and intelligent application of industrial and commercial photovoltaics through technological innovation and product upgrades in terms of design, products, and solutions, and has received wide acclaim in domestic and foreign markets.
02 Midea Photovoltaic
Committed to the New Blueprint of "Distributed Industrial and Commercial Photovoltaics"
Midea Photovoltaic focuses on the segmented track of distributed photovoltaics and launches a full-scenario solution for industrial and commercial photovoltaics. It integrates power generation facilities such as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), building - attached photovoltaics (BAPV), and photovoltaic parking sheds in the park, and combines energy storage facilities to form a distributed green power system for green power production, storage, and utilization. It monitors the safety status through advanced sensors and artificial intelligence technology to ensure the safe and stable operation of the distributed green power system. Midea Group continues to promote the use of clean energy. Currently, more than 20 factories and R&D innovation centers have built photovoltaic power generation projects, with a completed installed capacity of over 260MW, and the installed capacity of under-construction distributed photovoltaic projects exceeds 80MW.
Midea's industrial and commercial photovoltaics can meet the multi-scenario green power needs of different parks. Functionally, they make full use of the rooftops and public spaces of park buildings to improve power generation efficiency and promote park energy optimization. Environmentally, they are adaptable to the park landscape. By creating a photovoltaic landscape corridor with Midea's exclusive Fu pattern, they beautify the building facades and public environment.
Among them, Midea Photovoltaic's 9 major solutions include, but are not limited to, application scenarios such as [BAPV], [BIPV], [Chujinge], [Jindingfang], [Xiangyangju], [Photovoltaic Curtain Wall], [Photovoltaic Parking Shed and Charging Pile], [Photovoltaic Corridor], and [Energy Storage]. For each application scenario, a professional design team is selected to provide one-to-one customized solutions, creating unique industrial and commercial green power parks.
The zero-carbon photovoltaic layout of Midea Industrial Park conforms to the general trend of the transformation of the home appliance industry. In the booming year of 2023, the construction of distributed photovoltaic projects was in full swing, and the proportion of newly installed capacity increased significantly. The "report card" of photovoltaics in 2024 will be even more anticipated!
